The Minister of Culture Visits Nizam House
Mr. Mohammad Al-Ahmad, the Minister of Culture, was on a visit to the archaeological Nizam House and Sibai House, followed by a visit to Quatli House in order to view the restoration work carried out by the Aga Khan Cultural Services – Syria.
Firstly, the Aga Khan Foundation made a presentation on the restoration project and how they used modern techniques by lasers to document the archaeological houses meticulously.
In a statement to reporters, the Minister stressed that culture always needed concerted efforts, and the Cultural Action needed collaboration of the institutions with the Ministry of Culture.
Dr. Ali Ismail, the Chief Executive Officer of the Aga Khan Cultural Services- Syria, said: “acts of documentation began in 2010 in cooperation with international experts and a crew from the colleges of Architecture, Fine Arts and Antiquities, and we continue the work of restoration, which need time, therefore we were able to develop structural and architectural and technical infrastructure for these houses.”
